In the early 1980s, the SNCB introduced a new family of electric locomotives where varied characteristics were in-built depending on the work they would carry out. The Type 27s were 3kV d.c. only, but more powerful than the Type 21s, making them more suited to heavy passenger and freight work upon the SNCB network (only).
This model depicts one of the locos from the second batch of 30 Type 27s. The loco is branded on the side with "EurailCargo Belvetic" markings.
The model will be up to LS Models standards with a heavy duty centrally mounted motor, working head- and tail-lights, fine detail pantographs, a wealth of detail on body and chassis, NEM coupling sockets and a DCC socket.
