For 30 years from the opening of the Munich S-Bahn system in 1972, the ET420 units provided exceptional service on this superbly run suburban rail network.
The unit wears the blue/gravel grey livery worn by most of the units on the Munich network, as well as the DB-AG symbol and modern pictogram markings.
