As its name suggests, the South Country Cheviot is a hardy white-faced hill sheep from the Cheviot Hills of the Scottish Borders. Originally its dense fleece was selectively bred for hardiness, but it went on to secure the breed's dominance in the Tweed industry, however, today it is the production of quality lamb for which this sheep is prized.
