 Celebrating the very 'Best of British', Country Artists new series takes a light hearted look at some of the most illustrious meerkat heroes through the ages, each true exemplars of a bygone era and who seem somewhat familiar to us humans.

The artist Mark Spour was born in county Durham. Hw moved to Swindon as a young boy and lived there until 1992 when he moved to Cumbria with his family. Malk has always been interested in wildlife and spent his early years studying and drawing the birds and animals in his area. This love continues to this day and as a self-taught sculptor with over twenty-five years experience, he enjoys working in all mediums, bringing wildlife subjects to life through skill and fine detail.
