Apart from Nigels Just Dogs portrait, this is only the second Bernese Mountain Dog painting that he has produced. The former being Nursery Slopes.  

Of the many large, working breeds, the Bernese is, perhaps, the most striking. Its black, tan and white markings making it a very handsome creature.
